Forge a Path in
the Black Country
4th- 8th August 2023

Famous as the first industrial landscape anywhere in the world, the impact of the Black Country was felt the world over as modernity took hold. Our fantastic tour celebrates this famous region as we delve into its history.

Our tour starts with an en route stop at RAF Cosford, a training airfield which tells the fascinating story of the RAF and hosts a collection of historic aircraft..

Our first day out starts with a visit to Wightwick Manor & Gardens, a family home full of pre-Raphaelite art, William Morris interiors and 17 acres of gardens that boast an Arts & Crafts garden, rooms with a yew, a formal rose garden, informal gardens and 2 Orchards.

We then travel to Shrewsbury where you will have time to explore and have a leisurely lunch before we board the Sabrina for a 45 minute boat ride, with commentary and tea/coffee & biscuits, on the River Severn.

Our second day out takes us first to Ironbridge before we spend the rest of the day at  Blists Hill Victorian Town, where you will have plenty of time to explore this bustling recreation of a Victorian town, including a working pub, chip shop and old fashioned sweet shop.

On our return journey will include a visit to the Black Country Living Museum, one of the most extraordinary open-air museums in the UK, set in 62 acres and offering a glimpse into 300 years of history.
